Tickle Tots 2

I fell hard for these nappies when they arrived, and I've actually held off reviewing them here because I wanted to find *something* wrong with them!

A little like the Totsbots Peenut, the Tickle Tots 2 is a proper all in 2 system, with a separate wrap and bamboo inner that snaps in. Again like the Peenut, there are 2 parts to the insert, so you can use the small, large or both.

This is a slim fitting, birth to potty nappy. The leg holes are small and worked brilliantly on my skinny baby, although now that she's getting a bit chubbier we're adapting the way we put them on.

There are 2 tickle tots nappies - the tickle tots original is an all in one/pocket nappy which I'll be reviewing soon. The Tickle Tots 2 comes in the same prints, occasionally with slight differences, but it's a truly beautiful range. Where Totsbots and Bambino Mio go for cutesy kiddy prints, Tickle Tots has a really beautiful child friendly but arty vibe which I completely adore. Tickle Tots don't make all the block colours either, they just have a yellow and a lavender colour which just look lovely with all the prints in the range.

This is on the middle snap setting.

The above picture shows the pad system. There are 2 pads that popper together. The bigger of the 2 pads is made of 2 layers only attached at the ends. This makes it easier to spread out for faster drying. You can use these pads separately or together, depending on the absorbency needed.

If you look carefully in these pictures you may be able to see why these are so excellent on my skinny baby... The thigh elastic is nice and tight, but mainly focussed on the back half of the thigh hole. With lots of other nappies, I found myself pulling the thigh hole UP in order to make it tight enough. I don't have to worry about that with these, as the non elastic bit just sits where it should while the elastic stretches around her skinny thighs. I would STRONGLY recommend these for any skinny thighed babies out there. They were the only thing that worked perfectly for us until Flower got back onto her weight curve.

Now that she's a bit bigger, we're on the biggest snap setting and I always angle the velcro round and down to help shape the curve and get the velcro off her tummy.

It also has an excellent double gusset, which helps to fit around the pads and prevent bunching and resulting leaks.

The above pictures show my one grumble about the Tickle Tots 2... the flap at the front isn't sturdy enough to hold the pads down smoothly, so it was an extra thing I needed to do during changes. The left picture shows how it is supposed to lie. The right picture shows what happened after the slightest movement!

Issues:
Very few. Just the front flappy bit really.

Overall:
Pros
Gorgeous prints. I would say designed for Mums, not babies! (after all, who is really looking at them the most?!)
Flexibility - you can use small, large or both pads.
Strong elastic and positioning is excellent for skinny thighs.
Clearly high quality - these are beautifully made nappies.
Cons
Just the front flappy bits.

I really really love these nappies. I have many of them and intend to buy some separate inserts so that I can give wrap reuse a proper go. I also follow tickle tots on instagram and I'm excited about their new prints in the pipeline! Flower is getting a bit bigger now, so these aren't as crucial for us, but when she was underweight and super skinny, these were just fantastic.
